	Hang Gliding and Paragliding in Humboldt County, Northern California	MINUTES December 2004

President Dave Brose opened the meeting at Hunan in Fortuna at 6:10 P.M. with 9 members in attendance.

1. Old Business:

A. Club Status: Dave discussed the renewal of Chapter fees and Site Insurance with USHGA. These premiums are due earlier than mentioned last month. We need the site insurance premium before Feb 4th, not March 1st; and USHGA dues and updated chapter information by January 1st.

It was MOVED, SECONDED, and PASSED that the Club Treasurer Champie and Penguin (Gerald Myers) secure a checking account. Penguin reported for Treasurer Champie that we have $501 in cash.

An additional $80 was then secured for 2005 dues from four individuals.

We will also need a current membership roster and a copy of the chapter membership application when we send chapter fees to USHGA.

B. An updated membership roster prepared by Secretary Lindsay was passed around for additional corrections and additions.

C. Minutes from meeting of November 14, 2004 were read and approved.

2. New Business:

A. Josh has secured for the club the humboldtwings.com domain name. He is going to use humboldtflyers.com for his business.

B. Penguin has secured for the club humboldtwings.org; humboldtwings.net, and humboldtwings.info.

The dot org name is being hosted by Humboldt.net, and the web site is partially up and continues to be built by webmaster Penguin.

3. Notable Flights: Leon Dauksa made a flight November 30th that made the front page and an inside page of the Times Standard. This was mentioned as a very positive image builder for the sport. A presentation of the framed front page and two framed photos was made to Leon.

4. Rob McCaffrey presented some wonderful videos of the early days of hang gliding, (Rob has USHGA number 103) with some great stuff of his father adventuring with early hang gliders, Para planes and ultra lights as well. Several pilots passed around photos of the good old days, and some recent good days flying at Table Bluff.

5. Next meeting set for February 13th, 2005 at Round Table Pizza in Fortuna.
